Enhancing our environment and making our Town a beautiful home for our residents - this has been the credo of Hong Kah Town Council since its inception in 1991. For a start, routine maintenance and cyclical works like repainting, keeping our estate clean, beautiful and in good shape. Yew Tee can be considered a relatively young estate and it is equipped with many modern facilities and amenities for its residents. Notwithstanding this, Hong Kah Town Council continues to upgrade the environment through improvement works.

Greenery also plays an integral role in the beautification of Yew Tee. The importance of this is underscored by the yearly Tree Planting Day in November. We are grateful to Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister for Transport and MP for Hong Kah GRC (Yew Tee), grassroots leaders and residents for their strong support and participation at this annual event. The good relationship between Hong Kah Town Council and the Tew Tee grassroots is further seen in the GRO's participation in the other Town Council events. Take the Junk Removal Day earlier this year for example, Yew Tee Zone 9 strongly supported the event when some 40 members and friends volunteered their time to join the Town Council in helping residents remove their unwanted bulky items for free.

Similarly, the Hong Kah Town Council is also involved in most, if not all, of Yew Tee's major grassroots events and projects. Again, this is further testimony to the strength of the bond and unity between Town Council and Yew Tee GROs. Looking forward, Hong Kah Town Council will continue to consult with the Yew Tee community leaders in developing the estate, planning facilities that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional, and upgrading our environment to meet the aspirations of Yew Tee residents .
