Yew Tee Public Health Hygiene
The Yew Tee SARS Task Forces (now known as Yew Tee Public Health and Hygiene) has moved quickly into action after the launch of the Singapore’s OK (SOK) campaign for community on 1 Jun by PM Goh Chok Tong. Yew Tee Zone 9 RC was among the first to promote the Singapore's OK community campaign at RC events on 29 Jun 03. After which, a spate of CCC and RC events followed suit to incorporate the SOK good hygiene habits.

The official Yew Tee's OK programme was launched at the constituency level on 21 Sep 03 in conjunction with Yew Tee Residents’ Day. This programme aims to equip Yew Tee's residents with the necessary knowledge and cultivate them with hygienic habits so that they are prepared for any onslaught of infectious diseases. The Yew Tee SARS Task Force was renamed to Public Health And Hygiene Committee in Nov 03 to lead Yew Tee's OK programme. It would work with various partners to promote and instill personal hygiene, public hygiene and environmental hygiene.

A group of environment ambassadors would be rolling out initiatives and activities under the Yew Tee's OK programme. They would be tasked to raise residents' awareness on good hygienic habits and social responsibilities and ultimately, the challenge to engage them towards shared ownership for the environment.

Minister for the Environment, My Lim Swee Say, was the Guest-of-Honour for this inaugural 'Singapore's OK' Workshop
