There are Residents' Committees (RCs) in all public housing estates. The role of the RC is to promote neighbourhood harmony and community cohesiveness among the residents through a wide range of activities including block parties, neighbourhood watch, civil defence programme, tuition classes, education sessions, singing, health screening and social gatherings.

Through these activities, the residents have the opportunity to interact with one another and to better understand government actions and policies which affect their everyday lives.
