We had a fiery start when the YEAR of the TIGER was ushered in on 14 Feb 2010, being the 1st Day of Lunar New Year. It was definitely not the type of fiery start all of us wanted ….
Block 767 bore the brunt of the flames as the central rubbish bin was engulfed in flames internally. A picture was taken and being posted on our RC Blog. We are thankful that it was discovered early and the only damage was soot staining the hoppers on the different levels.
On the new year itself, our RC hotline also received calls during the day, claiming that bulky refuse were not cleared on time, and said to have made the estate an eyesore. We would like to appeal to residents that on 12 Feb 2010, our RC had gone for a tour round the estate with the workers with lots of hard work put in, they have managed to clear quite a sizeable amount. However, residents do clear bulky refuse on their own at the last minute, and feedback we received on Lunar New Year was gross injustice to them
If you have not known, our Town Council workers are “not supposed” to work on Sundays, but the workers have taken ownership and do light general cleaning on Sundays, so that all of us are able to wake up in seeing a clean estate.
